Gun Safety

Gun safety education is vital to preventing accidental injury and death.

“Gun safety” is a term used by public health activists to mean “gun control”. Since the term “gun control” has come to be widely understood by the public to mean further infringements on their right to keep and bear arms, these activists have dishonestly adopted the term “gun safety” instead. But their agenda is still the same—a stepwise public campaign to eventually ban the private ownership of guns.

DRGO maintains that firearm safety education should be administered by experts in the field. We endorse the many gun safety programs conceived and taught to millions of Americans by the Second Amendment Foundation Training Division, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the National Rifle Association, the Appleseed Project, and countless state and local gun clubs. Such programs include the NRA’s Eddie Eagle Childsafe Program and the NSSF’s Project ChildSafe.
